George Russell’s Unexpected Aspirations Unveiled in Wake of Kimi Antonelli’s Victory

George Russell has been comprehensively outperformed by team-mate Kimi Antonelli throughout the Miami Grand Prix weekend.

George Russell expressed his desire to “get through” the remainder of the Miami Grand Prix weekend after being outperformed by Kimi Antonelli. Antonelli secured pole position for the grand prix, leaving Russell in fifth place after qualifying. The Italian driver was 0.499s faster than Russell, marking the largest gap between them this season. Despite this, Russell was able to reduce Antonelli’s points lead from nine to seven in the Sprint race where Antonelli received a penalty. Reflecting on his struggles, Russell admitted to making a mistake on his final qualifying lap due to the low grip conditions of the track. He mentioned his preference for high grip conditions and expressed his desire to finish the weekend smoothly. Despite benefiting from Antonelli’s penalty in the Sprint race, Russell acknowledged that he had been struggling with qualifying throughout the weekend.
