Stunned on the Starting Grid: Arvid Lindblad’s Pit Lane Saga at Racing Bulls

Racing Bulls has been found guilty of a seldom-seen mistake, which means Arvid Lindblad must now start the Miami Grand Prix sprint from the pit lane.

Arvid Lindblad will start the sprint at the Miami Grand Prix from the pit lane after his team Racing Bulls failed to cover his car last night, per the FIA’s regulations.

The British driver, initially 16th in qualifying, moves up to 15th due to a grid penalty, but will now surrender that position, moving all drivers behind him up one place.

Racing Bulls technically violated curfew, but it was the team’s first of four allowable exceptions, so no punishment will be issued in this instance.

The FIA confirmed that the team personnel were on the circuit within the permitted curfew exceptions outlined in the regulations for the 2026 Formula 1 Championship season.
