Stunning Revelation: Cadillac Acknowledges Missing Element in Sergio Perez’s Journey

Honesty is always the best policy, but it did not help the Mexican driver in Miami.

Cadillac team principal Graeme Lowdon admitted that Sergio Perez lacked a crucial upgrade component during qualifying for the Miami sprint, which might have helped his performance.

The team introduced significant updates for their car at the Miami International Autodrome, including a new floor, front wing, diffuser, and rear suspension.

Despite out-qualifying his teammate Valtteri Bottas by nearly eight-tenths of a second, Perez narrowly missed advancing to SQ2 by less than four-tenths, resulting in starting positions of 18th and 20th for the duo.

Lowdon acknowledged that the aero upgrades brought more downforce and speed on the track, but Perez was without one part that could have further improved his performance.

Furthermore, Perez’s qualifying session was compromised by not getting a second run due to a visit to the weigh bridge, resulting in a missed opportunity to progress. Lowdon emphasized the team’s commitment to learning from the experience and emphasized the progress made.
