Lando Norris clinched sprint pole at the Miami Grand Prix — but it was not an easy session for the McLaren driver.
Lando Norris reflected on his internal debate following a “pretty woeful” SQ2 performance at the Miami International Autodrome. Despite the struggle, he advanced to the final part of sprint qualifying at the Miami Grand Prix and secured pole position for the one-third distance race in his MCL40. The journey was challenging, but with the guidance of his race engineer, Norris opted for a one-run strategy, which ultimately paid off. He managed to go two-tenths of a second quicker than his competitor Kimi Antonelli, despite a slight error on Turn 16. The difficult conditions, including the impact of the wind, made the achievement even more satisfying for Norris to kick off the weekend.
