Max Verstappen and Lucas Auer appeared to be on their way to victory in Race 2 of the Qualifiers for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. However, a broken splitter after an hour and a half of racing threw a spanner in the works.
Audi won the second qualifying race for the Nurburgring 24 Hours after Max Verstappen faced a technical issue. Verstappen initially battled with Christopher Hesse’s #16 Audi and the #45 Ferrari before taking the lead. Despite creating a significant gap, Verstappen had to pit due to a splitter issue, ending his chances for victory. The #16 Audi and #84 Lamborghini fought for the lead, with the Audi ultimately securing the win. Manthey Racing’s #911 Porsche claimed the final podium spot.
