Arvid Lindblad narrowly avoids team-mate smash after Gabriel Bortoleto issue
In the Australian Grand Prix qualifying session, F1 rookie Arvid Lindblad narrowly avoided a collision with his Racing Bulls team-mate Liam Lawson because of an incident involving Audi’s Gabriel Bortoleto. Bortoleto slowed down unexpectedly during his in-lap, leading to a close call in the pit lane. Lindblad, who had not been informed about Bortoleto’s situation, had to slam on the brakes to avoid crashing into Lawson. Lindblad informed the team about the incident, expressing his shock and concern over the near miss. Despite the scare, Lindblad’s car seemed alright, but he raised the possibility of damage to the front wing. Bortoleto, on the other hand, was unable to participate in Q3 due to a technical issue during his in-lap at the end of Q2.
