High-impact Incident: Kimi Antonelli’s Intense Crash in FP3

Kimi Antonelli has suffered a massive crash during the third and final practice session in Melbourne.

During FP3 at the Australian Grand Prix, Kimi Antonelli was involved in a major crash, causing a second red flag for the session. The collision was severe enough to warrant the deployment of the medical car due to high G-forces recorded. Despite the intensity of the crash, the young Italian managed to extricate himself from the damaged car and return to the pits unscathed. The incident occurred as Antonelli exited Turn 1 at Albert Park, hitting the outside wall of Turn 2. While the pit lane was temporarily closed, it is anticipated that the session will be restarted. There are doubts whether Mercedes will be able to repair his car in time for qualifying in Melbourne, but substantial repairs will be necessary. At the time of the crash, Antonelli was ranked fourth on the timing board, trailing behind Leclerc, Piastri, and Hamilton.
