Lando Norris and McLaren have both been nominated for prestigious sporting awards for their championship-winning seasons in 2025.
“Lando Norris, the Formula 1 world champion, and his McLaren team have both been nominated for prestigious sporting awards by Laureus. Norris, who clinched the 35th F1 world champion title in 2025, is in the running for the ‘World Breakthrough Star of the Year’ award after his thrilling victory over Max Verstappen in Abu Dhabi.
Norris faces stiff competition from athletes across different sports, including football, tennis, basketball, darts, and swimming. On the other hand, McLaren has been nominated for the ‘World Team of the Year’ award after securing their second consecutive constructors’ world championship in 2025.
Although no F1 driver made it to the ‘World Sportsman of the Year’ award list, MotoGP champion Marc Marquez is a nominee this year. The winners across all categories will be revealed at a special ceremony in Madrid on April 20th.”
