The Yamaha MotoGP team faced highs and lows at Mugello, with Fabio Quartararo securing the front spot in qualifying but struggling in both the sprint and main race at the Italian Grand Prix, finishing 14th in the latter.
Quartararo attributed his performance decline in the races to chattering issues and deteriorating grip, making it challenging for the Yamaha bike in direction changes and physically demanding for him.
Despite achieving pole positions in previous races, Quartararo expressed disappointment in Yamaha’s performance, especially in races where he had previously excelled, feeling puzzled by their struggles.
Looking ahead, Quartararo emphasized the need for significant improvements to bridge the performance gap, particularly under challenging track and weather conditions.
