MotoGP world champion Fabio Quartararo was taken to the hospital after a significant accident during the first official practice session at the Italian Grand Prix. The Yamaha rider crashed after 10 minutes when the front of the bike slipped away from him at Turn 4 in Mugello. Quartararo dislocated his left shoulder in the crash but continued to slide into the gravel trap. After popping his shoulder back into place himself, he returned to the pits, where he received medical attention from the championship’s medical director, Angel Charte. Despite the injury, Quartararo finished the session in fifth place, securing a spot in Q2 for Saturday’s qualifying session. However, his further participation in the weekend’s events is contingent on medical clearance from the hospital.
