Thrilling Turn of Events: Porsche Takes Lead at Le Mans 24 Hours Amidst Safety Car Drama

“Porsche leads the 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours race at the halfway point with the #6 PPM 963 driven by Laurens Vanthoor, battling against Ferrari.

After a pit cycle, the #83 AF Corse Ferrari briefly took the lead but faced penalties, allowing the #6 Porsche to strategize around fuel economy and regain the lead.

Ferrari team orders saw the #83 Ferrari cede the lead to the #51 factory Ferrari driven by James Calado, but both Ferraris accumulated penalties, giving an opportunity to the #6 Porsche.

The race experienced its first major shake-up when a crash by LMP2 racer Cem Bolukbasi caused a safety car period, leading to a mix-up in the running order.

As the race resumed, the #6 Porsche led the #8 Toyota and the #83 Ferrari, with the #15 BMW moving up to fourth place after the safety car period. In LMP2, the #48 VDS Panis ORCA-Gibson held the lead, while the #46 WRT BMW faced technical issues in the LMGT3 class.”
