During the Monday test day at Aragon, MotoGP reintroduced rider radio devices to enhance safety communication with riders.
Riders such as Alex Marquez, Brad Binder, Lorenzo Savadori, and Johann Zarco tested the devices throughout the day.
While Savadori had a relatively positive experience with the device, noting that communication with race direction improved when he listened in the box, he mentioned challenges with clarity at high speeds.
The device uses bone conduction and although Savadori found it not uncomfortable, there were difficulties in maintaining optimal positioning within the helmet.
Despite some uncertainties on adaptation, Savadori believes that with practice, connecting and disconnecting the device will not pose major issues for the riders and teams.
For Alex Marquez, trying the device for the first time raised questions about its effectiveness, especially during fast laps where clear communication was crucial for safety.
