Atlanta Motor Speedway, located in Atlanta, Georgia, has been on the NASCAR Cup schedule since 1960, but when the series returns there this summer, it will be going by a different name; Atlanta will now be known as EchoPark Speedway as part of a seven-year branding deal worth several million dollars, with the name atop the grandstands already changed. EchoPark Automotive, specializing in selling pre-owned vehicles and owned by Sonic Automotive’s CEO David Smith, will now promote its car-buying experience through this partnership. The track hosts two Cup races yearly, beginning with the opening round of TNT’s NASCAR broadcast schedule on June 28, and introducing a new $1 million in-season tournament. The winner of the race at EchoPark Speedway will receive a Chevy Silverado and a trailer with a Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Limited Edition Harley-Davidson motorcycle provided by EchoPark. Speedway Motorsports CEO Marcus Smith expressed excitement for the partnership with EchoPark Automotive, aiming to elevate the fan experience with exceptional customer service and Southern hospitality. NASCAR tracks changing names due to sponsorship deals is common; notable examples include Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Infineon Raceway, ISM Raceway, and World Wide Technology (WWT) Raceway at Gateway currently.
