Yuki Tsunoda Faces Tough Challenges Following Spanish GP Friday Practice

Yuki Tsunoda expressed puzzlement over his lack of pace following the opening practice sessions at the Spanish Grand Prix, stating that he “doesn’t have any idea why I’m slow.”

Despite smooth sessions without clear issues, Tsunoda believed his ultimate pace was insufficient and struggled to pinpoint the reasons behind it.

Noted for experiencing sliding at both axles, Tsunoda ended up six tenths slower than teammate Max Verstappen during soft-tyre qualifying simulations.

While making progress through FP1 and FP2, Tsunoda found it challenging to identify his exact limitations and expressed determination to improve.

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen had an “OK” Friday, feeling more positive about the car’s performance than in previous run-ins this season, though he still aimed for more comfort and better overall performance.
