After four seasons with Stewart-Haas Racing, Chase Briscoe transitioned to Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) to replace former Cup champion Martin Truex Jr., who retired from full-time competition. Briscoe’s partnership with crew chief James Small began strong with a pole position in the Daytona 500, marking Toyota’s first pole in the event. Although Briscoe has secured four top-five finishes, he’s yet to win multiple races like his teammates Christopher Bell and Denny Hamlin. The higher expectations at JGR have been an adjustment for Briscoe, who noted the team’s demand for excellence and constant improvement. Despite the challenges, Briscoe is determined to unlock the full potential of his JGR Toyota and elevate his performance level in NASCAR.
