The opening day of track action since the F1 summer break was an incident-packed affair at Zandvoort, as Lando Norris set the pace on Friday ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix. The McLaren driver topped both of Friday’s practice sessions, although Oscar Piastri failed to complete a papaya one-two. Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso showed stunning pace to split McLaren, whilst team-mate Lance Stroll suffered a big crash resulting in a long night for the team. Several drivers, including both Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, had incidents on the opening day, which featured three red flags.
