William Byron has signed a contract extension with Hendrick Motorsports, keeping him with the team through 2029. Byron, a two-time Daytona 500 winner, is currently second in the championship standings. He has 14 Cup Series victories and has driven for Hendrick since his debut in 2018, winning Rookie of the Year. Byron has made six consecutive NASCAR Cup playoffs appearances and finished in the top 4 in 2023 and 2024. Team owner Rick Hendrick praised Byron’s talent, work ethic, and character, expressing pride in having him on the team alongside Larson, Elliott, and Bowman.
