Pierre Gasly shared his childhood dream of wanting to be a professional football player before transitioning to Formula 1, as he led a team in a charity football match prior to the Monaco Grand Prix.
The match featured F1 drivers like Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso, and Charles Leclerc, aiming to raise funds for charity organizations.
Gasly expressed his joy for playing football and the unique experience of teaming up with his racing rivals for a good cause.
Even though Gasly acknowledged Zinedine Zidane as his childhood icon in football, he emphasized that his passion shifted to motorsport after trying go-karting for the first time.
While Gasly praised his teammate Isack Hadjar’s effort and team spirit, he humorously suggested that Hadjar might have a future in football management rather than on the pitch.
