Mercedes Formula 1 rookie Andrea Kimi Antonelli struggled with energy during his Imola homecoming due to the high buzz around the event. Antonelli’s first grand prix in Italy did not go as planned, facing confidence issues and battling tyre overheating alongside teammate George Russell. Despite initially holding off Lewis Hamilton, Antonelli retired with a throttle problem, marking a disappointing end to the highly anticipated race weekend. Antonelli was seen interacting with fans, but felt the need to better manage the energy demands of such events. Looking ahead to the Monaco race, Antonelli aims to bounce back stronger after learning important lessons from his Imola experience. Team representative Bradley Lord emphasized the need for performance as the top priority amid managing the hype surrounding the young driver.
