Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur stated that their engineering setup has remained largely unchanged for three years, acknowledging some errors with the car and outlining areas for improvement. The scrutiny on accountability in Formula 1 when a car underperforms is not new, raising questions about the effectiveness of the technical team. Despite Lewis Hamilton’s recent victory, Ferrari is struggling in the 2025 season and facing criticism over the SF-25’s performance. Vasseur addressed doubts about the technical staff’s capabilities for the 2026 car, highlighting the transition from the previous technical director to the current one.
He emphasized that the core team working on the projects has remained consistent and expressed confidence in their ability to overcome challenges and enhance their performance. Vasseur dismissed suggestions of abandoning the SF-25 development in favor of the 2026 car, emphasizing the importance of continuous improvement and problem-solving within the team. Ferrari’s focus is on maximizing their current resources and development plan to achieve better results on the track.
