Bagnaia Struggles for Connection: Analyzing the Lack of Bike Feel at the French MotoGP

Francesco Bagnaia described the French Grand Prix as a race and a weekend that he would like to forget, as he crashed on the first lap and finished 16th overall. Despite starting from sixth on the grid, he collided with Enea Bastianini on the first lap, also impacting Joan Mir. Bagnaia managed to return to the race with another bike after the incident but had a disappointing weekend with no points and a retirement from the sprint race on Saturday. Bagnaia acknowledged the challenging conditions and the lack of feedback from the bike, expressing disappointment in not being able to capitalize on his strategy. While trailing in the championship by 51 points, Bagnaia emphasized his struggle with the bike’s feel this season, stating that until things improve, it’s a difficult situation for the team. Nevertheless, he refused to attribute his results to mere luck, focusing on the need to work towards better outcomes going forward.
