Ferrari has introduced a myriad of upgrades to the SF-26 for the Miami Grand Prix. RacingNews365 technical expert Paolo Filisetti explains what has changed.
Ferrari debuted a major aerodynamic upgrade package on the SF-26 at the Miami Grand Prix, featuring a total of eleven changes approved by the FIA. The updates covered the entire car, with a particular focus on refining the rear end for improved performance. The front wing modifications included revised endplates to direct airflow towards the central section of the car and the barge boards ahead of the sidepods. Significant changes were made to the barge boards, with a doubled vertical element and a full-length slot gap to enhance airflow management and reduce turbulence. Further enhancements were made to the sidepod inlets and undercut to optimize airflow along the car’s flanks and increase aerodynamic load at the rear axle. Ferrari’s meticulous development work aimed to stabilize the car’s aerodynamic profile and ensure more consistent load distribution for improved performance on track.
