The F1 cars are set to pose a much different challenge to the drivers this year.
Alex Albon expects F1 cars to feel more “unnatural” for drivers this year due to significant regulation changes affecting aerodynamics and power units. The power unit will now have an equal split between electrical output and combustion engine power. This shift will require drivers to focus more on energy management and strategic deployment during races. Albon believes the upcoming changes will be a major departure from previous years’ driving experiences. He also acknowledged the challenges faced by drivers and teams in the 2022-2025 car generation but remains optimistic about the new regulations improving racing dynamics. Albon sees the 2022 transition as an opportunity and is prepared to make the most of it.
