Formula E’s new Gen3 Evo car breaks cover
The new specification of the car was unveiled ahead of the Monaco E-Prix, where ex-Formula 1 driver David Coulthard will demonstrate it for the first time on Saturday. This upgraded Gen3 car features changes to bodywork, tires, and a more efficient power usage, surpassing current F1 cars in acceleration. Notably, the new car will utilize all-wheel-drive (AWD) for the first time, with a 50kW front axle power limit out of 350kW. The improved design includes a sturdier front wing, less aerodynamic drag, and tires offering 5-10% more grip. Teams can upgrade existing chassis with modifications to save costs, fitting into the halfway point of the Gen3 cycle before Gen4 is introduced in 2026.
