Carlos Sainz was one of several F1 drivers present at Formula E’s Monaco double-header.
Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz praised Formula E’s new Gen4 car as “pretty impressive,” after visiting the series at the Monaco E-Prix, joining other notable figures like Lando Norris, Nico Hülkenberg, and Christian Horner.
With the new power unit regulations in F1 and the introduction of the Gen4 car in Formula E, comparisons between the two categories are becoming more prevalent as the performance gap narrows significantly.
The Gen4 car is set to be less than five seconds slower than an F1 car around Monaco, boasting impressive statistics such as reaching 100 km/h in 1.8 seconds and having a top speed of 335 km/h.
Sainz highlighted the quality of racing in Formula E, noting the excitement, competitiveness, and frequent overtaking that makes it a compelling category to watch for both fans and drivers.
The Spanish driver drew parallels between Formula E and his fondness for go-karting, emphasizing the thrilling nature of the races and the talent showcased by the drivers in the series.
