Max Verstappen appears not to be in favour of taking up a rally invitation.
Max Verstappen has been offered a rally test opportunity by WRC champion Sebastien Ogier after competing together at the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
Although Verstappen has already tried Ogier’s Ford Focus on a circuit, he has shown no interest in testing it on an actual rally stage.
Ogier jokingly suggested Verstappen could try rallying like his father, praising Verstappen’s driving skills in any car.
While Ogier welcomes the idea of Verstappen trying rally, the latter has expressed concerns about the high risks involved.
In Verstappen’s view, the fixed obstacles in rally racing pose a higher risk compared to the safety features on Formula 1 circuits, which make him reluctant to pursue a full rally experience.
Nonetheless, Verstappen appreciates the skill and bravery of rally drivers, citing the Monaco rally as an example of the extraordinary feats they accomplish.
