Isack Hadjar received too significant penalties in Montreal, yet still managed to achieve his best result in Red Bull colours.
Isack Hadjar agrees with the heavy penalties he received during the Canadian Grand Prix, acknowledging them as fair in his self-assessment.
Despite looking strong in practice sessions, he struggled for pace during the race compared to the frontrunners.
His fifth-place finish was his best result of the season, helped by George Russell’s retirement and the McLaren drivers’ strategic missteps.
Hadjar was penalized with a 10-second time penalty for erratic defending against Charles Leclerc and a subsequent stop/go penalty for not slowing under yellow flags.
Although he admitted fault for the penalties, Hadjar struggled to understand his loss of pace during the race after feeling good in the car on Saturday.
