Felix Rosenqvist won the Indianapolis 500 for the first time on Sunday and will take a nice sum of money as a result.
IndyCar announced that Felix Rosenqvist won $4.34 million for winning this year’s Indianapolis 500.
Rosenqvist’s victory was secured with a thrilling final lap that ended with him finishing 0.0233s ahead of David Malukas.
The total race purse was $30,906,400 this year, a significant increase from last year’s $20,283,000.
Rosenqvist’s win marked the closest finish in the history of the Indy 500.
INDYCAR and IMS President J. Douglas Boles praised the event, calling it a historic and memorable month for motor racing.
