Felix Rosenqvist won the Indy 500 in a photo-finish, defeating David Malukas.
Felix Rosenqvist won the 110th Indy 500 in a thrilling photo-finish with David Malukas in the closest-ever finish. The race boiled down to a one-lap shootout after a late Caio Collet crash on Lap 194, with five laps of caution after a red flag. On the final lap restart, Malukas roared into the lead into Turn 1 as Marcus Armstrong and Rosenqvist battled for second, side-by-side, but using the high-line, Rosenqvist got momentum heading out of Turn 4. He slingshotted out of the final corner and pipped Malukas to the line by 0.018s – the closest finish in the history of the 500. Rosenqvist’s win is his first on an oval, and second of his career, marking Meyer Shank Racing’s second Indy 500 victory after Helio Castroneves in 2021. He becomes the third Swede to win the race after Kenny Brack and Marcus Ericsson.
