It has been one thing after another for Aston Martin in Montréal this weekend.
Aston Martin’s weekend in Montréal turned into a nightmare as qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix was set to begin. The team had already been struggling this season, and their misfortunes continued in Montréal.
Alonso crashed during sprint qualifying, unable to partake in SQ2 due to the damage. Stroll faced a suspension issue and had to start from the pit lane in the sprint race.
Alonso retired during the sprint due to technical problems, while Stroll finished 16th. Before grand qualifying, both drivers were involved in dangerous incidents that will be investigated by the stewards.
To top it all off, neither Alonso nor Stroll made it out of Q1, with the duo set to start 19th and 21st on the grid.
