Lance Stroll suffers home race misery after latest Aston Martin issue

Lance Stroll has endured a miserable start to the sprint at the Canadian Grand Prix.

Ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix sprint, Lance Stroll was sidelined from the grid due to a front suspension issue with his Aston Martin. Despite being a three-time podium finisher, Stroll had to watch from the pit lane as the rest of the field started the 24-lap race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. After starting from P17 in Montreal, Stroll eventually joined the sprint late once the necessary part was replaced on his AMR26, managing to avoid getting lapped. Adding to his woes, Stroll also faced scrutiny from the race director for a potential starting procedure violation, further complicating his challenging afternoon. The struggling Silverstone-based team has been grappling with a tough start to the F1 season, with Stroll’s setback being the latest obstacle to overcome. Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso had his own troubles in the other car, crashing during sprint qualifying but still making it to SQ2, albeit being unable to participate in the session.
