Charles Leclerc was out-qualified for the second time in 2026 Sprint Qualifying by Lewis Hamilton, and has a puzzling problem with his Ferrari.
Charles Leclerc struggled during the Canadian GP Sprint Qualifying due to a lack of feeling on the brakes of his Ferrari. He will start sixth in the shorter race in Montreal, trailing behind his teammate Lewis Hamilton, who out-qualified him for the second time in three Sprint races. Despite Ferrari’s unexpected competitiveness at the circuit, the SF-26’s small turbo limits its top-end speed. Leclerc highlighted his lack of confidence on the brakes, especially at the four heavy braking zones on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. He expressed the need to address this issue before the race on Saturday to improve his performance and hopes to turn the situation around with the team’s support.
