The 2026 F1 Canadian Grand Prix Free Practice session was dominated by Kimi Antonelli, who outpaced George Russell by over a tenth of a second at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
Despite three red flags disrupting the session, Lewis Hamilton managed to secure the third spot on the timesheets in Montreal.
Incidents included Liam Lawson’s Racing Bulls stopping due to a hydraulic issue, and Alex Albon hitting a marmot on track, leading to added session time.
The session was extended due to these interruptions, with Lawson under investigation for a clutch system malfunction and Esteban Ocon causing the final stoppage.
