Liam Lawson fires back at Zak Brown after Max Verstappen ‘mistake’

Liam Lawson found himself included in McLaren CEO Zak Brown’s letter to the FIA calling for tighter rules on teams owned by the same organisation.

Liam Lawson responded to Zak Brown, who mentioned a radio conversation between Racing Bulls and him in a letter to the FIA about double-team ownership.

During the Miami race, Lawson was asked by his team to let Max Verstappen pass him after an early incident between the two drivers.

Although Lawson initially came out ahead after both cars went off track, he was later instructed to allow Verstappen through.

Lawson admitted to the error and stated that they wouldn’t make the same decision if faced with a similar situation again.

Zak Brown included Racing Bulls’ radio communication in his letter to the FIA, advocating for stricter regulations on teams with shared ownership. Lawson, however, maintains that all actions were within the rules and no foul play occurred.
