Will Kyle Larson be attempting double duty once again in 2026 by racing in the Indy 500 and the Coke 600 on the same day?
Kyle Larson will not be taking part in the 2026 Indy 500, after attempting Double Duty in 2024 and 2025. In 2024, Larson tried to run both the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 but faced challenges due to a rain delay at Indy. He finished 18th at Indy and missed the start of the 600. In 2025, Larson crashed out of the Indy 500 and retired from the NASCAR race at Charlotte. Moving forward, Larson will focus solely on the NASCAR race during the Memorial Day weekend double, foregoing the Indy 500. Katherine Legge is attempting to complete Double Duty in 2026, aiming to be the first female driver to achieve this feat. The most successful driver in completing Double Duty was Tony Stewart in 2001, who finished sixth at Indy and third at the Coke 600. Stewart remains the only driver, out of a total of six, to complete all 1,100 miles of the challenge, not including Legge.
