Revving Towards Victory: Las Vegas Grand Prix Accelerates Path to Formula 1 Contract Extension

A vote of the Clark County Commissioners means F1 could be racing in Las Vegas until 2037.

Lawmakers in Nevada voted to potentially keep the Las Vegas Grand Prix on the F1 calendar until the 2037 season, with the Clark County Commission approving the resolution on Tuesday for the event to continue on the 3.8-mile circuit. The race originally joined the calendar in 2023 with a three-year deal, extended until 2027, and now has the potential for a further extension until 2032, with the recent Commission vote paving the way for five more seasons on top of that. The Commission’s vote on Tuesday focused on recognizing the Las Vegas Grand Prix as an annual event, with the amendments allowing the race to potentially continue over the Thanksgiving weekend until 2037. Commission Chair Michael Naft stressed the importance of condensing the track build and de-rigging timeline to minimize disruption for locals and businesses, while also highlighting F1’s investments in the circuit’s facilities for improved fan experience.
