After Max Verstappen’s outing at the Nurburgring, there are just seven champions not to dip their toe in the endurance water.
Max Verstappen joined the ranks of F1 champions who have competed in a 24-hour endurance race by racing at the Nurburgring last weekend. Unfortunately, he experienced a driveshaft failure while leading, preventing him from contending for the win. Only seven out of the 35 F1 champions have never participated in a 24-hour race. Notable names like Lewis Hamilton, Ayrton Senna, and Sebastian Vettel have notched numerous wins and titles but have yet to tackle the endurance challenge. Among the F1 champions who have raced in a 24-hour event, 22 have tackled Le Mans, seven have taken on Spa and Daytona each, while Niki Lauda and Max Verstappen have ventured to the Nurburgring. Despite this, no driver has competed in all four major 24-hour races, although 12 champions have tried their hand at two of them.
