Oliver Rowland has boosted his Formula E drivers’ title defence chances after winning in Monaco.
“Oliver Rowland, the reigning Formula E world champion, impressed with a masterful performance to secure victory in the second race of the Monaco E-Prix double-header. Despite starting from eighth, the Nissan driver managed his energy effectively, clinching his first win of the season and second in Monaco after his triumph last year.
Andretti celebrated a new podium finisher in rookie Felipe Drugovich, who secured second place in the all-electric series. Antonio Felix da Costa also made it to the podium, despite a spin on the opening lap that led to a 10-second time penalty due to contact with Edoardo Mortara.
Mortara initially finished second but was demoted to fifth after the penalty, behind championship leader Mitch Evans. Dan Ticktum faced more frustration following an excellent pole position, receiving a five-second time penalty for overspeeding under a full course yellow.
Ticktum’s teammate at Cupra Kiro, Pepe Marti, had a challenging race, crashing out at the penultimate corner on lap 18, a day after securing his first Formula E podium. For detailed results, check out the full report!”
