Max Verstappen’s #3 Mercedes has come into the pits with an issue, and team boss Steve Buschmann has explained the problem.
Max Verstappen’s bid for victory at the Nürburgring 24 Hours was hindered by a technical failure that forced the #3 Mercedes into the pits. The car, previously running strongly, encountered a problem with the right rear corner, prompting an unscheduled pit stop for driver Dani Juncadella. Winward Racing team principal Steve Buschmann confirmed that the setback was purely mechanical, with no crash or contact contributing to the issue. Mechanics swiftly began repairs on the car in the garage, aiming to return it to the race promptly despite the significant time loss. Buschmann reassured that the sister #80 car was unaffected and could continue its challenge for the lead, noting that the technical problems seemed isolated to the #3 car. The team remained optimistic about getting the car back on track and competing effectively in the ongoing race.
