Max Verstappen had a masterful double stint he could only have dreamt of in the Nürburgring 24 Hours!
Max Verstappen took the lead at the Nürburgring 24 Hours race with a stellar double stint, making impressive overtakes along the way.
Starting from fourth, Dani Juncadella handed the car over to Verstappen after the first hour, who found himself in 10th due to other teams’ strategies.
Verstappen’s two-hour mission showcased his skill, starting with a close call in his Mercedes-AMG GT3, then executing brilliant overtakes on Jesse Krohn and Ayhancan Güven.
Unfortunately, Thierry Vermeulen’s race ended early after a collision, while the #16 Scherer Sport PHX car also retired due to a front-end crash.
Verstappen, however, continued his charge and took the lead after overtaking two contenders with a stunning maneuver, thrilling spectators.
After completing his stints, Verstappen handed over the car to Jules Gounon, who maintained the lead as the race progressed.
