Max Verstappen took to the Nordschleife track in the dark for the first time on Thursday.
Max Verstappen discussed the challenging conditions he encountered at the Nordschleife while gearing up for the upcoming race. Following a successful qualifying session on Friday, Verstappen secured the fourth spot for the start of the Nürburgring 24 Hours. To familiarize himself with driving in the dark, Verstappen participated in an evening practice run, which proved to be an extreme test. The adverse weather conditions, including heavy rain and limited visibility due to fog and vapor, made driving particularly tough for him. Verstappen emphasized the importance of practicing in the dark and adapting to the challenges presented by the trackside lighting and the spectators’ presence. Despite the difficulties, he acknowledged the necessity of getting accustomed to driving in such conditions to improve his overall performance.
