George Russell handed ‘ruthless’ verdict in Kimi Antonelli fight

George Russell has fallen 20 points adrift of Kimi Antonelli after just four races in the 2026 F1 season.

According to a recent RacingNews365 poll, 59 per cent of Formula 1 fans suggest that George Russell must be more ruthless against his Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli.

Antonelli, the 19-year-old Italian, currently leads the drivers’ championship with 100 points after four rounds of the 2026 season, holding a 20-point advantage over Russell.

With three victories and three pole positions under his belt, Antonelli is proving to be a strong contender against the more experienced Briton.

Despite Russell’s sole win in the opening round at Melbourne, he has struggled to match Antonelli’s pace in subsequent races, finishing second in China and fourth in Japan and Miami.

Only 34 per cent of respondents believe Russell’s experience will ultimately triumph, while seven per cent remain undecided, showcasing the uncertainty surrounding the outcome between the two teammates.

As Russell, 28, continues to seek his first world championship, it is clear that he faces a formidable challenge from Antonelli, who seems increasingly comfortable in his second season of Formula 1.
