Liam Lawson had an eventful opening few laps in Miami before retiring from the race
Liam Lawson expressed surprise when asked to hand his position back to Max Verstappen during the Miami Grand Prix. Verstappen’s early spin saw him make up ground and engage in a close battle with Lawson. Despite remaining ahead, Lawson eventually yielded to Verstappen as per team instructions. Following the position swap, Lawson’s race ended due to a gearbox failure and subsequent collision with Pierre Gasly. Despite the setback, Lawson believed he could have secured points if not for the mechanical issue.
