Controversy on the Track: Max Verstappen Penalized at Miami Grand Prix

Max Verstappen was summoned before the stewards for two separate incidents in the Miami Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen received a five-second time penalty at the Miami Grand Prix for allegedly crossing the pit exit line during the race. He made an early pit stop following a safety car period caused by Isack Hadjar, Liam Lawson, and Pierre Gasly. Verstappen was initially not penalized during the race but was investigated post-race based on new video evidence. The stewards determined that he did breach the rules and imposed the time penalty, although it didn’t affect his fifth-place finish as he was more than five seconds ahead of Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen’s front left-hand tyre was found to have crossed the pit exit line, leading to the penalty according to the International Sporting Code Appendix.
