Formula 1 Stars’ Controversial Actions Spark FIA Investigation Chaos

The stewards are set to be incredibly busy at the Miami Grand Prix after late-race chaos between Charles Leclerc, George Russell and Max Verstappen.

The stewards at the Miami Grand Prix will investigate a series of late-race incidents involving George Russell, Charles Leclerc, and Max Verstappen that occurred just before the chequered flag at the Miami International Autodrome. The Ferrari driver is facing scrutiny for three separate incidents, while the Mercedes driver is involved in two, one of which includes the Red Bull driver, making a total of four additional investigations. This follows the ongoing investigation of two drivers from earlier in the afternoon, including Verstappen, who had a tumultuous race. Leclerc is under investigation for track limits violations and gaining an unfair advantage, as well as for a collision with Russell at Turn 17 on the final lap. Lastly, he is being looked into for driving his damaged Ferrari unsafely after contact with the wall. An additional investigation will look into the contact between Russell and Verstappen, which led to damage on the W17’s front wing. Alongside Verstappen’s pit exit violation investigation, Liam Lawson will also face the stewards for his incident with Pierre Gasly.
