Max Verstappen could be punished after the Miami Grand Prix for what is usually a slam-dunk infraction.
Max Verstappen will be investigated by the stewards at the Miami Grand Prix for crossing the line at the pit exit, having changed tyres behind the safety car. The Red Bull driver was one of only a few to come in for fresh rubber when the safety car was brought out for Isack Hadjar’s crash and the collision between Liam Lawson and Pierre Gasly, the latter of which will also be investigated after the race. Unfortunately for the four-time F1 drivers’ champion, who spun whilst fighting for the lead on the opening lap and fell down the order, it is usually a slam-dunk issue. It is therefore an unusual decision, but the FIA officials at the Miami International Autodrome will take a closer look at the incident with more information to have following the conclusion of the 57-lap race.
