Aston Martin has suffered a fresh blow at the Miami Grand Prix as its situation goes from bad to worse.
Despite a five-week break to address issues with the AMR26 and its Honda power unit, Aston Martin’s struggles in F1 continued at the Miami Grand Prix weekend. Both drivers, Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso, faced challenges during sprint qualifying, with Stroll failing to submit a lap time and Alonso being over 10 seconds off the pace. Stroll’s session was marred by a stop on track, flat-spotted tires, and a close call on making the grid. The team now awaits a decision from the stewards on their starting permission for the race. Aston Martin faced technical problems at the start of the weekend, with neither driver hitting the track promptly due to garage power issues. Despite efforts at the Honda base to address battery vibration, ongoing challenges persist without new chassis updates for the car.
