Decoding George Russell: A Comprehensive Analysis Through the Lens of Lando Norris

George Russell has adapted a very different approach to being the favourite for the F1 drivers’ title this year, compared to Lando Norris in 2025.

Former F1 driver Jolyon Palmer observes a significant difference between George Russell’s current demeanor and Lando Norris’ attitude at the beginning of the past season when Norris was often discontent with his car despite winning races.

Russell has displayed remarkable confidence since the Barcelona test and remained optimistic even after being bested by Kimi Antonelli in China and Japan.

As the Miami Grand Prix approaches, Russell, from King’s Lynn, is viewed as the front runner for the world championship due to his speed and experience.

Although Antonelli, at just 19, is gaining self-assurance and is the youngest championship leader in F1 history, Russell appears unfazed and poised, according to Palmer.

Palmer believes Russell possesses the necessary patience and maturity to handle Antonelli’s growing confidence, noting the contrasting attitudes between Russell’s current poise and Norris’ past self-doubt.
