Unveiling the Future: McLaren’s Bold Promise of a Groundbreaking New Supercar

It seems the MCL40 witnessed over the first three grands prix may look a little different over the next two race weekends in Miami and Canada.

McLaren’s team principal Andrea Stella has announced plans to introduce “a completely new car” at the upcoming Grand Prix events in Miami and Montreal. Following a challenging start to the season, including a disappointing race in China, the team showed improved form in Japan, albeit still trailing behind front-runners Mercedes.

The cancellation of certain Grand Prix races has allowed McLaren to focus on adjusting to the new 50-50 power regulations in Formula 1. The team has strategically studied its rivals’ aerodynamic setups and is now implementing planned upgrades to the MCL40 as part of their North American races strategy.

Stella emphasized that the changes are in line with their pre-season plans, aimed at enhancing performance gradually rather than through immediate changes. Despite expectations of an improved car, Stella downplayed the possibility of a significant shift in the competitive order, highlighting the team’s progress and setting optimistic goals for the upcoming races in Miami and Canada.
