Danilo Petrucci has expressed concerns about grip issues with his BMW WorldSBK machine, reminiscent of MotoGP riders’ struggles in recent years.
During the Dutch Round, Petrucci showed promise by qualifying on the second row and being the leading non-Ducati rider in practice sessions.
However, he faced challenges in the races, finishing 18th in Race 1, seventh in the Superpole Race, and ninth in Race 2 due to performance inconsistencies.
Petrucci highlighted difficulties in overtaking, especially in acceleration and braking, when in a race situation.
The rear grip on the BMW was a particular issue at the Dutch World Superbike round, affecting stability as the tires degraded.
Looking ahead, Petrucci remains optimistic for the next race at Balaton Park, a track he believes will better suit the BMW’s strengths.
